The Nazareth Care Charitable Trust is a leading care home group based in the UK. Operating across five regions, they provide nursing and residential care for the elderly. A long-standing client of Foodbuy, we have recently implemented Epsys – our market leading system – with savings and greater compliance already being realised.
Nazareth Care Charitable Trust was looking to gain greater control of its general operations and improve their overall group purchasing process, so we introduced them to Epsys – our market leading eProcurement and Procure to Pay (P2P) system.
The timing couldn’t have been better. With the outbreak of Covid-19, Nazareth Care Charitable Trust would not only need to ensure a safe and secure supply chain throughout the Pandemic, but also manage their margins closer than ever before.
For Nazareth Care Charitable Trust, full visibility of spend across their entire portfolio was really important, so our Systems Development and Account Management teams worked closely to produce specialist reporting modules – providing full visibility on exactly what is being spent, by whom and at which location.
All 16 sites nationwide (100%) are now using the system. The result, complete visibility and control of the entire end-to-end procurement process – as well as being able to driver greater compliance to centrally negotiated deals across all sites – meaning direct savings to the bottom line.

At first, some of their staff were apprehensive of using a new system, which is why we deployed our dedicated support team to help train their staff and ensure they were getting the very best system experience.
Just hours into using the system, staff quickly came to realise that Epsys not only saves them time compared with previous telesales ordering, but it also means they can benefit from saved shopping templates, detailed allergen records, recipe management, goods receipting and much more.
The work doesn’t stop here. We’re now working with Nazareth Care Charitable Trust to turn their data into insight, with plans to drive further benefits through range and product consolidation, product switching and tighter range management. We’re also working with them to review new opportunities outside of food, including our specialist supplies, equipment and services programmes.
