Every year, our charity partner Duchenne UK hosts its flagship fundraising event, the Duchenne Dash, a gruelling 24-hour bike ride from London to Paris. It’s all in aid of raising money to accelerate treatments and find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy – the most common genetic killer of children.
On Saturday 13 June, the Duchenne Dash and our team of Foodbuy riders, should have been bumping over the cobbles of the Champs Elysees in the final stretch of the 300km ride.
Sadly, that isn’t possible this year, however the Duchenne UK team have launched the ‘Duchenne Dash at Home’. The idea is to pledge as many kilometres as possible by cycling, walking or running or even getting the kids to scoot before Saturday 13 June.
We’ve assembled a willing team here at Foodbuy UK to take part in the Duchenne Dash at Home. They’ve committed to walking, running and cycling a combined journey of over 2,000km– both indoors or outdoors – before Saturday 13th June 2020. We’re really proud of our team’s efforts to keep our fundraising going strong in a time of social distancing and lockdown.
The event has now ended. Find out how you can support Duchenne UK here: https://www.duchenneuk.org/how-you-can-help
