As CEO of Foodbuy UK & Ireland, Alex is responsible for all purchasing businesses operating within the division of Foodbuy Group.
Sitting within this division is Regency Purchasing Group, of which Alex is the founder. Initially, Alex created Regency Purchasing Group as a buying group to consolidate purchasing and to secure more competitive pricing for his family’s own 15 sites. Today, the business has developed into a cross-category support service for the hospitality and leisure industry, with over 7,500 members.
Alex’s career began at a young age when he worked in kitchens within his family’s catering businesses. He then went on to own and operate several hospitality and event businesses. Through this, Alex successfully delivered the first-ever mobile vending contract at the 2012 London Olympic Games and supported the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games in a consultancy capacity.
Additionally, Alex maintains an active role as Director at The Old Thatched Cottage restaurant in Weston Super-Mare, the first restaurant his grandfather purchased over 60 years ago.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his family on his small farm where he keeps pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens.
