Foodbuy Group raise over £100,000 at annual charity day!

7 August 2026

On Wednesday 16th July 2025, the annual Foodbuy Group charity day saw over 350 guests, including our supplier partners across food, beverages and non-food categories, enjoy a day of outdoor activities, a gala dinner, and entertainment. Held at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, the event was in aid of two of our inspirational charity partners, Duchenne UK and Sophie’s Legacy.

The event was a resounding success with over £100,000 raised to support these incredible causes. This milestone achievement is a testament to incredible support of our supplier partners, clients, and supporters who united for a common cause. Donations were raised for both charities through event ticket sales and various initiatives throughout the day and evening, including darts competitions, a raffle, and a live auction.

A special thank you to our headline sponsors, Brakes and Red Bull for their contribution to the event.

Duchenne UK

Duchenne UK is the leading charity working towards accelerating treatments and finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common genetic condition that sadly takes the lives of children. Foodbuy Group’s partnership with Duchenne UK began in 2017 and we have since raised over £XXX for the charity.

Sophie’s Legacy

Sophie’s Legacy was established in memory of Sophie Fairall, who sadly died from cancer aged 10. Following months in hospital, Sophie wanted to change several things and wrote these on her bucket list for her mother to achieve in her memory. In response, her mother set up the charity, which now provides practical and emotional support to children and families during long hospital stays, including meals for parents, emergency clothing, toiletries, family support, and activities to make hospital life more comfortable. Alongside this, the charity campaigns for lasting improvements in children's healthcare by advocating for better hospital food, free meals for parents staying with their child, and greater investment in childhood cancer research.

Duchenne UK said:

"Duchenne UK was once again delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of this year's Foodbuy Activity Day. We are incredibly grateful to the many suppliers, customers and everyone across the Foodbuy Group who have supported the event and the Duchenne Dash over the years. Every pound raised is invested in pioneering research, treatments and care for those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, helping to change lives and bring hope to families affected by the condition. Foodbuy Group’s loyal support over the past 10 years has been truly invaluable, and we thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

Charlotte Fairall, Founder of Sophie’s Legacy said:

“It was an incredible day, and we are so grateful to Foodbuy Group for bringing people together to support Sophie’s Legacy. The money raised at the evening gala will make a real difference to families facing long stays in hospital, ensuring they have access to food, comfort, and support when they need it most. We were also overwhelmed by the generosity of companies pledging ongoing food and drink supplies, which will directly support our work in hospitals every single week.”

The success of this event showcases Foodbuy Group’s commitment to supporting charities that make a real difference. Thank you to all attendees and event sponsors for being part of this remarkable journey towards positive change.
