Foodbuy, a leading food procurement organisation based in the UK, has seen its sandwich range scoop a coveted award at The British Sandwich Industry Awards (The Sammies) for the second consecutive year.
The awards ceremony, which took place on 10 May, celebrated the very best of the sandwich and food-to-go industry. Foodbuy and its parent company and largest client, Compass Group UK & Ireland, received the ‘Workplace and Catering Sandwich Retailer 2018’ award for the Chop Chop sandwich range, which launched in early 2017 and is available across a number of different business sectors including hospitals, universities and retail outlets.
Over the past year, Foodbuy has continued to develop its Chop Chop offer, introducing summer and festive ranges, reviewing and enhancing premium items and launching a hot food-to-go offer, as well as significantly cutting calories from its products. As a result, Foodbuy has seen its Chop Chop sales grow by more than 30% since launch.

Chop Chop was developed by Foodbuy’s category development teams in partnership with high profile chefs, suppliers, nutritionists, marketing teams and clients. It now includes around 150 items including sandwiches, salads, snack pots, paninis, toasties and fruit pots.
